Coronavirus: TAC air purifiers hold back contaminated room air with negative pressure – in single insulated rooms or large accommodation such as makeshift hospitals

The administration of Singapore, a metropolis of millions, had long been aware that one day a worldwide pandemic such as the corona virus would strike. Accordingly, the city-state prepared itself meticulously for Day X. For example, it accommodates the infected people in single isolation rooms with an entrance lock. Here, negative pressure and special filters prevent contaminated air from escaping to the outside. We also offer this effective elimination of almost any risk of infection – with our TAC air purifiers in combination with H14 filters.

If a town or district temporarily uses rooms or auxiliary hospitals to house infected citizens, everything should be done to effectively prevent the further spread of the virus. This applies to individual isolation, but also to the use of a gymnasium or sports hall for a large number of cases of infection. In both situations we recommend the use of a professional TAC air purifier from Trotec. Depending on the performance class, the professional air purifiers are designed for the flexible maintenance of negative pressure in rooms of different sizes. The use of high-performance filters of class H14 for effective virus filtering is impressive.

In this case, an individual isolation room is attached to the door or an entrance sluice is attached to the entrances of a hall, for example by means of a foil curtain. This is used for quick and safe sealing off and can still be opened for access. The TAC air purifier is installed outside the insulation area using the appropriate hose connected to the suction side. By connecting outside the contaminated area, a negative pressure is created inside, which prevents viruses or other pathogens from spreading into adjacent areas or rooms.

This is particularly suitable in auxiliary hospitals that are currently being built in boarding schools, hotels or youth hostels, where the aim is to prevent pathogens from sick persons from entering corridors or other rooms in the individual rooms

Effective protection of citizens, staff and caregivers

The use of a TAC air purifier with H14 HEPA filter reduces the health risk of contracting a pathogen through the air in the room to almost zero. To be precise, to 0.005% transmittance with a simultaneous filter efficiency of 99.995% for the H14-HEPA high efficiency filter.  In practice, this means that: out of 100,000 microparticles suspended in the air, a TAC air purifier with H14 filtration effectively filters out 99,995 particles! Thanks to these first-class filter properties, H14 high-performance filters are used, for example, in operating theatres for clean air production and in comparably hygiene-sensitive areas.
