With the growing number of refugees arriving from Ukraine, there are more and more reports that many initial reception centres are not prepared for the steadily increasing flow of refugees. There are reports of long queues in front of the central arrival point for refugees from Ukraine. Incoming refugees, mainly women and children, are having to stand outside in the cold. There are no blankets for those waiting. It is unacceptable that children and women already suffering the hardships of the escape from their country have to wait for hours in the cold. Politicians are calling for heated waiting tents or the like to be installed immediately. To make matters worse, we know that a large number of refugees who are coming to us now have Covid. The vaccination rate in Ukraine was low. It is to be feared that the number of infections in other countries will increase again due to the entry of many refugees. Therefore it is important to pay more attention to the topic of “Corona among refugees”.

HEPA air purification in combined room air heating
The TAC XT, developed and manufactured in Germany, is a unique all-round solution for mobile heating applications with additional H14-HEPA air purification (certified according to EN 1822).
As a mobile high-performance air cleaner, the TAC XT is characterised by a degree of separation of 99.995% with particle sizes of 0.1 to 0.2 µm and thus enables effective bacterial and viral filtering of the room air in refugee accommodations. In addition, the thermostat-controlled TAC XT supplies the ambient air with draught-free heat as a “compensation heater” and therefore supplement existing heating systems or be used independently to heat even larger rooms and tents. With a heating output of 18 kW (optionally 27 kW), a multi-level adjustable air output of up to 2,500 m³ and a flexibly adjustable outlet temperature of up to 75 °C, the TAC XT represents a unique solution for flexible use in temporary reception centres for refugees.
Clean, filtered room air to protect against contagious diseases
As more people come together in one space, the concentration of germs in the ambient air increases and thus also the threat posed by viruses (Sars-CoV-2, influenza), bacteria and multi-resistant germs that can float around for hours in the air in communal rooms if no technical solutions are applied. By using a TAC XT, these pathogens are reliably filtered out of the ambient air and additionally killed by means of thermal decontamination in the heat-resistant special filter. This may sound complicated, but it takes place fully automatically in the evenings. The device then briefly heats the special filter to 100° C in order to reliably kill the viruses and bacteria caught in the filter.
With its high-performance air purification function, the TAC XT enables the establishment of transfer and shelter zones for refugees, helpers and other personnel with virus-filtered ambient air directly at the installation site. The target areas are constantly flushed with cleaned air, which significantly reduces the risk of infection within these zones compared to non-treated areas.
Mobile room air heating with H14 HEPA air purification
Whether supply tents from aid organisations, emergency accommodation in gyms or initial reception facilities – cities and municipalities are working on the infrastructure nationwide to take in and care for refugees from Ukraine.
