Measured in terms of absolute humidity, Germany has the most humid air in July and August. This can be a real problem for the proper ventilation of many basement rooms, but also for apartments in the basement. If the humidity here repeatedly falls outside the optimal range of 50 to 60%, a normal comfort dehumidifier from our TTK series will provide can help. However, if there is a year-round moisture problem in unheated rooms, we recommend the the new Comfort dehumidifier TTR 50 E from Trotec as a professional solution. And why is that?
When ventilating cellar or storage rooms on hot summer days, the muggy outside air would bring additional humidity, and the air in the cool cellar room would quickly become saturated with moisture. As a result, condensation would form and subsequent mould growth be practically inevitable. A ‘normal’ dehumidifier like the one Trotec offers in its tried-and-tested TTK series is a great help. The situation is different, however, if you have a humidity problem with completely unheated basements or storage rooms all year round.
This is because compressor-operated dehumidifiers tend to ice up at low temperatures and have to go through regular defrosting phases. This noticeably increases power consumption and reduces dehumidification performance. Therefore, the ideal solution is a permanent dehumidifier such as the comfort dehumidifier TTR 50 E. Even at low temperatures of up to -10 °C, the compact drying device impresses with a powerful dehumidification performance of up to 7.5 litres per day. Ideal for your unheated or cool rooms measuring up to 18 m² or 45 m³.
Here’s how it works
The modern comfort dehumidifier TTR 50 E scores equally with its rounded design without corners and edges as with its user-friendly operation. All settings can be made easily and conveniently at the touch of a button via the intuitive control panel with LED display on the top of the device. The current room humidity is displayed in a clear, easy-to-read manner. As an option, the dehumidifier TTR offers you:
- fully automatic permanent dehumidification – ideal for keeping basements, conservatories and garages permanently dry or for quickly drying damp walls and floors after water damage. a hose can be connected to the rear of the unit to allow the condensation water to drain off continuously.
- the hygrostat-controlled automatic dehumidification with target value setting (50 % or 60%) – ideally suited for creating a healthy living room climate with optimum humidity.
Uniform dehumidification of the room requires good air circulation. With the three-stage ventilation (max. 126 m³/h), you can optimally adjust the room air circulation to the room size. A switchable swing function ensures that the air is also optimally distributed within furniture and objects. And to save unnecessary operating times and thus electricity costs, for example when drying laundry, the operating time of the dehumidifier can be pre-set via timer to two, four or eight hours.
To enable the TTR 50 E to trap dirt particles even more effectively via the air filter, simply switch on the ionisation function. This releases negatively charges ions whose static charge binds floating pet hair, lint and dust particles and causes them to sink to the floor, where they are then immediately sucked in by the air flow of the three-speed fan and bound by the filter. In this way, the room air is purified of coarser particles.
Four of the many advantages I particularly like:
- dehumidification with adsorption technology – ideal for unheated rooms and environments in the low temperature range down to -10 °C
- the two operating modes: dehumidification function and continuous operation
- the two pre-selectable target values for dehumidification (50% and 60%)
- the 8-hour timer function
