Modern air conditioners such as the PAC wall-mounted air conditioners PAC-W 2600 SH and PAC-W 2650 SH without external units are true all-rounders. On hot summer days, when the temperatures outside become almost unbearable, the visually outstanding air conditioners help to cool down quickly. But that is by far not all. Heating with the air conditioner? It’s all a question of technology!
Unlike conventional air conditioners, the PAC-W 2600 SH and PAC-W 2650 SH wall-mounted air conditioners use the latest heat pump technology. This means that in autumn or winter they can also be used as a cost-saving heating system with high energy efficiency.
Basically, both air conditioning units contain a small air-to-air heat pump. In cooling mode, this pump transports the heat out of the room into the open air, where it is released again via a heat exchanger. This principle also works the other way round. In this case, the hear is drawn in outdoors and released indoors as warm air. Classic heat pumps extract heat from the ground and then use it to heat the living space. With air-to-air heat pumps, the heat is extracted from the air so that less energy has to be used for heating.
And that pays off: Depending on the outside temperature, considerably less electrical energy has to be used to heat the room to a comfortable temperature.
Once installed in the living space, the air-conditioning units PAC-W 2600 SH and PAC-W 2650 SH regulate the desired room temperature fully automatically. On warm summer days, they cool down heated living rooms, bedrooms and offices measuring up to 34 m² or 85 m³ to pleasantly cool room temperatures. In the cool transitional period of autumn and in the cold winter, they provide a rapidly spreading warmth in the room with their powerful heating output.

How expensive is heating with air conditioners?
Depending on the time of year, heating with the air conditioner can actually be cheaper and more effective than using the gas-fired heating system. Sluggish underfloor heating systems in particular take a comparatively long time to generate pleasant warmth in the room. With the air-conditioning units PAC-W 2600 SH and PAC-W 2650 SH , on the other hand, the heat can be felt throughout the room after just a few minutes. This way, unexpected weather changes or cold spells can be optimally moderated without having to switch on the main heating. This saves expensive gas and money.
As a general rule: the higher the outdoor temperature, the less electrical energy is needed to heat the air. In a mild autumn/winter, electrically-powered heating with the air conditioner can therefore be quite cheaper than heating with gas.
