Especially for those of us who are susceptible to infections or suffer from allergies, investing in a professional humidifier is worthwhile. After all, a healthy room air humidity of 40 to 60% reduces the risk of infection from flu and corona viruses – and now, during the autumn flu season and the beginning of the 4th covid wave, this can only be a good thing! Humidifiers also reduce the annoying symptoms of too-dry indoor air such as chapped lips, irritated eyes or scratchy throats. Since there is a wide range of model variants, we want to clarify which devices are best suited to which needs.
There are various models, such as nebulisers, evaporators, air washers and air coolers. To ensure that you purchase the perfect device for your needs, it is best to consider which of the many functions and features you find particularly important before making your purchase.
Nebuliser, or ultrasonic atomiser
If you place value on an energy-saving humidifier, a nebuliser or ultrasonic atomiser might be of interest. The device uses ultrasound to atomise the water, and then humidifies the air with it. Take care that the device also runs quietly. With some models on the market, an annoying whirring noise can be heard with use over a period of time.
B-E Series Ultrasonic Humidifiers from Trotec
If you need reliable, genuine quality, functional variety and individuality in your humidifier, the Trotec B-E series is a first-class solution. You can choose between different models, the B 1 E, B 2 E, the B 5 E, the B 6 E and the B 7 E, each of which offers different nebulisation performance levels. These range from 4.8 up to 7.2 litres per day. Ultrasonic humidifiers – depending on the model – are ideal for use in rooms of up to 20 or 30 m². All devices in the series are characterised by a modern design, which blends in with any interior. What’s more, you can also choose between two different modes. Whether a removable scented oil diffuser, an integrated baby mode, a modern touch panel or a freely programmable timer function for example – the ultrasonic humidifiers in the Trotec B-E series leave nothing to be desired.
Air washers
Air washers are particularly popular with anyone suffering from allergies, because they combine air purification and humidification. Not only do they provide pleasantly humidification for the air, but the units also filter out dust and pollen. Additionally, these models can also be used with harder water. Trotec offers two equally reliable and tested devices in this model range:
Air washers AW 10 S and AW 20 S from Trotec
The low-maintenance 3-in-1 comfort units for humidification and purification. Both air washers clean and humidify the room air without filter mats. The air washer AW 10 S binds together pollen, animal hair, house dust and even unpleasant odours thanks to the integrated plasma feature. The low-maintenance unit is easy to open for filling and cleaning. The air washer AW 20 S offers optimum humid room air quality at all times, thanks to a combination sensor and HEPA filter. The device is also therefore perfectly suited for allergy sufferers: thanks to the optional HEPA filter, not only is house dust, pollen and animal hair removed from the air – but even the smallest of dirt particles such as fine dust, allergens or mould spores can be reliably removed as well.
Evaporators
Evaporators very slowly humidify the air through the use of filter mats soaked in water. Over-humidification is not a worry here. Nor do bacteria stand a chance with these devices. The hardness of the water is also not important.
B Series Evaporation Humidifiers from Trotec
The models in this series provide you with numerous advantages for a pleasant indoor climate and free breathing. With their optimal price-performance ratio, stylish design and functional diversity, the individual models could be said to represent a value protection for health and interior design through humidity optimisation. All models in this series, such as the B 24 E / B 25 E, B 250, B 300, B 400 or the remote B 500, are also hygrostatically controlled. The performance capacity – depending on the model – ranges from 0.6 litres to 60 litres per hour. The large air humidifiers can be deployed in rooms of up to 420 m².
Air coolers
These practical devices offer year-round benefits: they cool the air on hot spring and summer days via natural evaporative cooling, and humidify chronically too-dry heated air in autumn and winter using evaporative technology. A completely natural and, to top it off, cost-effective cooling and humidification method, requiring no external energy for the cooling process.
PAE Series air coolers from Trotec
Usually designed as 3-in-1 units, the air coolers of the PAE series provide consistent air cooling, ventilation and air freshening to ensure an excellent feel-good climate. It’s a particularly clever and energy-efficient solution for pleasant temperature regulation in small to medium-sized rooms. The options range from the smallest of our devices, the PAE 11 air cooler with a humidification capacity of max. 0.46 litres per hour and an air flow rate of 90 m³ per hour, to a variety of other air coolers for practically every demand and requirement. All the way to our largest model in this series, the PAE 80 designer air cooler, boasting a maximum humidification capacity of 2.0 litres per hour and an air flow rate of 1,000 m³ per hour!
