Lay tiles in a precise grid. Position wall cabinets accurately. Drill holes with pinpoint accuracy. These are just three of countless applications in which the crosshairs of the new BD6A cross line laser achieve the desired result with maximum precision. The cross line laser projects perfect right-angled laser lines onto the wall, taking all the effort out of exact alignment. In addition, the ease of use and the high degree of versatility make the precision tool an indispensable accessory – for mounting, decorating and wallpapering, and for renovation and building work.
When switched on, the BD6A cross line laser immediately projects its red laser lines onto the opposite wall, floor or ceiling. The laser lines have a range of up to 10 metres and are visible on the walls even in daylight. Depending on the selected mode, you can work with cross lines, horizontal lines or vertical lines. You can use the locking button to project diagonal lines or crosses, which are perfect for parallel alignment on stairs, for example. One particularly practical feature: the projected lines are always completely straight, even if the surface is slightly uneven. The BD6A’s automatic levelling mode automatically compensates for unevenness in the floor up to a slope of 3.5° and calibrates itself accordingly.
Here’s how it works
Equipped with state-of-the-art laser class 2 technology, the BD6A is so easy to use that not only experienced craftsmen but also casual DIY users can benefit from its practical advantages. All functions can be performed intuitively via the user-friendly two-button operation. For this purpose, the precision device features a total of 6 projection modes which cope with practically any challenge – straight cross lines, straight horizontal line and straight vertical line. You can also use the locking button to project oblique cross lines, an oblique horizontal line or an oblique vertical line onto the wall.
Weighing just 274 g, the cross line laser is barely the size of a Rubik’s cube, making it ultra-portable – it can be stowed in any tool bag and, due to battery operation, is ready for immediate use at any time and in any location. The BD6A is perfectly suited for use in harsh working environments. The cross line laser is dustproof and splashproof in accordance with IP54, and the solid plastic housing absorbs shocks up to a drop height of 1.2 metres.
The BD6A cross line laser is powered by two 1.5V AA batteries, which are supplied with the device. This practical tool also features a standard ¼-inch (6.35 mm) tripod mount integrated into the bottom of the housing, which means it can be fitted to any commercial tripod. Trotec also supplies a compatible universal tripod stand. With the separately available universal mount, the BD6A can be attached almost anywhere and can be aligned in any position using the ball joints. The suction cup is ideal for smooth surfaces.
Four of the many advantages I particularly like:
- Projection of bright red laser lines up to a distance of 10 metres
- Choice of three projection modes: horizontal or vertical single lines and cross lines
- Laser locking function also for projection of sloped lines
- Self-levelling laser – always automatically aligned straight on surfaces with an inclination of up to ± 3.5°
