As soon as winter arrives with its freezing cold weather, discussions start in the office, in the workshop, in schools and in day care centres. Because a high density of people in a room also causes a high concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the room air. The question arises again during the cold season: how often should, indeed, must the windows be opened for ventilation? In recent years, the debate about opening cycles has been dominated by the risk of corona infection. And this year, the expensive energy prices are once again intensifying the dispute between the ‘window-closed’ and ‘window-open’ factions. So here is Trotec’s suggestion for pacification: The CO2 Air Quality Monitor BZ26. Finally available!
It is important to know that the carbon dioxide concentration, i.e. The CO2 content in the air, is a reliable indicator of when we are slowly running out of breathable air in a room. And with it our performance – even if the rising CO2 content in the room air is within the permissible limit values. This is because a high CO2 concentration leads to tiredness, poor concentration and loss of performance, and often causes serious health problems in children or vulnerable people. The CO2 air quality monitor BZ26 offers you reliable monitoring of indoor air quality for improved health protection. Ideal in school classes, day-care centres, offices, waiting rooms, meeting rooms, seminars and of course at home. So you can breathe in and out deeply with a good feeling.
CO2 Concentration and all important room climate values at a glance
With the BZ26, you keep control of all important indoor climate values and can take targeted measures to improve the air quality. The reliable measuring device precisely monitors the most important air quality parameters:
- CO2 concentration (measuring range: 400-5,000 ppm)
- Indoor temperature (measuring range: -9.9 °C to 60 °C or 14.18 °F to 140 °F)
- Relative humidity (measuring range: 20 % r. h. to 95 % r. h.)
The measuring device shows the measured values in colour-coded areas on its clearly legible and three-stage dimmable display. A well-being indicator uses a smiley icon to provide easy-to-understand information as to whether the indoor climate is in the ideal acceptable or critical range. You can also be alerted by a visual and acoustic signal when limit values are exceeded.
Here’s how it works
With the CO2 air quality monitor BZ26, you can reliably keep an eye on the indoor air quality and enable controlled ventilation at the workplace, in the co-working space or wherever several people are in one room – without wasting heating energy. Because with the support of the BZ26, you only ventilate when it is really necessary and only for as long as necessary.
You can also read the display of CO2 value, room temperature, humidity, date, weekday and time simultaneously. The CO2 level is displayed with a coloured smiley symbol in traffic light colours as a feel-good indicator. In addition, you can set the minimum and maximum value function for the CO2, air temperature and air humidity value as well as the carbon dioxide alarm function with visual and acoustic warning signal for a freely definable CO2 limit value.
The measuring device can be operated both with mains power (USB cable supplied) and with the batteries (3 x type AAA alkaline, 1.5 V) also supplied. When operating the device via the USB connection, the BZ26 measures the CO2 content in the air fully automatically every 6 seconds. In battery operation, the ‘’DOWN’’ button must be pressed for the CO2 value to be determined. A practical stand and an integrated wall bracket allow free choice when positioning the measuring device.
Four of the many advantages I particularly like:
- the simultaneous display of air quality indicator (CO2 concentration), room temperature, humidity, time, date and well-being indicator
- well-being indicator display
- defining the individual CO2 alarm limits – with visual and acoustic warning signal display
- the alarm function with snooze button
