Coronavirus and the measures adopted to contain the pandemic have plunged the German economy into a serious crisis. Service sectors have been particularly affected by forced closures ordered by the authorities. And even after reopening, many of these companies are still struggling with a somewhat dramatic drop in sales.
From forced closure to absent customers
Customers stay away from many places such as shops, restaurants and public facilities. Those who, as entrepreneurs, have high hopes for reopening during forced closure have to now deal with absent customers. The fear of becoming infected with coronavirus is too great.
Science dampens hope of early vaccine
To make matters worse, several recent studies have dampened hopes of long-term immunity and, along with it, moving the development of a suitable corona vaccine further and further away. Studies of recovering Covid-19 patients do not indicate long-lasting immunity. In fact, some of the individuals no longer had antibodies for the Sars-CoV-2 virus in their blood after a certain period of time. Other corona patients treated at a clinic in Munich in January also showed a significant drop in the number of so-called neutralising antibodies in the blood, reported Clemens Wendtner, chief physician at the local clinic for infectious diseases.
Trade and industry now have to face the situation
We must therefore consider the idea that coronavirus will be with is for a long time and that we cannot hope for a medical solution to the corona problem in the foreseeable future. Until then, technical solutions must provide maximum protection against corona infection for employees, customers or guests. But also as protection against a corona-related closure, so that your own company does not become a corona hotspot. Trotec supplies the necessary technology with the high-performance TAC V+ air purifier.
“We have always been specialists in room air filtration and, as a Heinsberg-based company, we worked on a solution that would really help and not just provide perceived protection immediately after the first cases became known” explains Trotec Managing Director Joachim Ludwig. “Masks and sneeze guards are one thing. However, virologists and scientists agree that the aerosols released during respiration represent the greatest risk of infection. The aim must therefore be to filter them out of the room air before they are inhaled.”
Danger is in the air – aerosols
It has long been recognised that simple mouth-nose masks and social distancing rules do not offer sufficient protection against coronavirus. However, innovative high-performance air purifiers such as the TAC V+ with HEPA filter technology can protect, which experts also agree with. The renowned pulmonologist Dr. Thomas Voshaar, whose expertise on the Covid-19 disease is recognised worldwide, advises Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn on the current corona crisis. Voshaar confirms that about 80 percent of corona infections occur via air. More precisely through so-called aerosols, a mixture comprising gas (usually air) and solid or liquid constituents, which contain viruses in infected persons. These tiny floating particles are mainly released into the air when breathing and speaking. While the large droplets sink to the ground after only about 1.5 meters due to their weight (hence the social distancing rule of 1.5 meters), aerosol particles float in the air for several hours owing to their small size (about 0.3– 0.4 µm) and are inhaled.
Trotec’s high-performance air purifiers reduce the risk of infection in trade and industry
With the high-performance TAC V+ air purifier , Trotec has developed the world’s first mobile air purifier or aerosol separator, immediately diluting the aerosol mixtures in room air, filtering them out and inactivating them in a special HEPA thermal decontamination filter. The results of various studies prove the high degree of protection against infection from the air purifier with special HEPA filter technology, which considerably minimizes the risk of infection via room air. District Administrator of the Heinsberg District, Stephan Pusch, is optimistic that food services, trade and commerce will quickly return to normal thanks to the air purification technology developed by Trotec during the crisis.
Low investment costs enable complete protection against infection
This too is an irrefutable fact and a consequence of the Corona crisis: until now, many companies have simply lacked the financial means to fully protect their employees and customers. Appropriate air handling systems come at high prices that a medium-sized company can hardly cope with. Thanks to the new HEPA filter technology from the mobile high-performance TAC V+ air purifier, completely new protective measures are now being provided for companies.
The air filtration concept of the high-performance TAC V+ air purifier is based on two pillars:
- On the one hand, aerosol concentration in the room air is continuously and effectively diluted with virus-filtered HEPA ultrapure air. To this end, the purifier has a high ultrapure air capacity – previously unattained with mobile devices – which enables an air exchange rate up to 20 times per hour.
- In addition, airborne viruses and bacteria are first separated in an innovative, heat-resistant HEPA particulate filter and then cyclically killed off by thermal decontamination. This special filter of protection class 14 exclusively developed by Trotec is distinguished by a separation efficiency of 99.995 percent for particle sizes from 0.1 to 0.2 µm. Thanks to these features, H14 high-performance filters are even used to produce clean air in operating theatres and in similar hygiene-sensitive areas.
What sounds very technical in theory proves to be very uncomplicated in practice. The draught-free intake of polluted room air occurs close to the floor, and the ultrapure virus-free air is then returned vertically upwards into the room. Thanks to the mobile design, the use of several TAC V+ air purifiers enables even large areas of ultrapure air to be created without hazardous aerosol contamination.
The TAC V+ mobile air purifier is available in several colours and equipment variants in the Trotec shop as well as in stationary Trotec stores in Heinsberg.
