Use electric heaters, avoid unnecessary power consumption – with the room thermostat BN30 and the radio thermostat BN35 from Trotec

The gas alarm continues and with it the consumer’s fear of having to sit in a cold apartment without gas in winter. That is why the demand for electric heaters is currently increasing every day, but at the same time there is growing concern about unnecessarily high electricity consumption by electric heaters. There are, however, proven remedies against this, such as their limited temporal and spatial use. Above all, however, the use of room thermostats such as the BN30 and the radio thermostat BN35 from Trotec is recommended, because they prevent any unnecessary power consumption. And its use is also worthwhile if your electric heaters already have a built-in thermostat control …

This is how easy it is to teach your electric heaters to save electricity in the coming winter: you can conveniently control the desired room temperature with the digital socket thermostat BN30 – or regulate the heat output of your mobile electric heater with the radio thermostat BN35 both thermostatically and time-controlled. Both thermostats help you save on excessive energy costs. On the one hand, by switching the heating or air-conditioning unit connected to the thermostat on or off whenever the measured room temperature deviates from the target temperature set in the thermostat. On the other hand, by programming the switch-on and switch-off time of the electric heater using the radio thermostat to save energy. The only preliminary condition: you should check in advance whether the respective heating or air-conditioning unit is suitable for use with a socket thermostat.

This is how a socket thermostat works

A room thermostat is an intelligent temperature controller that regulates the room temperature fully automatically according to your specifications and settings. To do this, the socket thermostat, such as the BN30, is simply plugged into a free socket in the room and the power cable of the electrical heating or cooling device is in turn plugged into the room thermostat. After the desired target temperature has been set, the integrated sensor continuously measures the air temperature and switches the connected device on or off as needed to achieve the desired room temperature. This thermostat-controlled control is supplemented with radio thermostats such as the BN35 by an individually programmable timer with up to 6 switching times.

You have the choice between …

… essentially two types of room thermostats. Our range of room thermostats includes both simple socket thermostats such as the BN30 for controlling individual devices and multifunctional radio thermostats such as the BN35, with which up to 100 radio sockets and devices connected to them can be time-controlled at the same time.

Current offer recommendation – the digital socket thermostat BN30

The thermostat BN30 allows you to regulate the temperature of heating and air-conditioning units between 5 °C to 30 °C in half-degree increments. Using its integrated sensors, the device measures the actual value of the room temperature and regulates the heating or air conditioning device according to the desired set-point. The extremely simple operation and programming of the unit allows you to use it in a variety of ways – the BN30 is particularly suitable for mobile heating systems, for example. The current room temperature can be easily read on the large overview display, and it is also possible to permanently switch off the heating or air conditioning unit via the thermostat.

  • The BN30 is protected against power failures via an integrated EEPROM, so that the storage of the selected settings are retained in the event of a power failure.
  • The sensors in the BN30 measure the room temperature at 10-second intervals and regulate the connected heating or air-conditioning unit according to the programmed target value.

Current offer recommendation – the radio thermostat BN35 with timer

The radio thermostat BN35 combines the functional advantages of a thermostat with those of a timer. With the thermostat you can you can set the target room temperature as desired. And with the timer function, you can choose precisely at which times the heating or air conditioning should be activated. The thermostat mode and the timer can be used individually or be cleverly used in combination.

You can set the desired switch-on or switch-off temperature in the range of 0°C to 70 °C in fine 1 °C increments . In addition, you can pre-set up to 6 different automatic timer programmed per day on the radio thermostat. You have four options when selecting the days: You can either select an individual day of the week (Mon., Tues., Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat., Sun.), only the work days (Mon. to Fri.), only the weekend (Sat. to Sun.) or the entire week (Mon. to Sun.).

As the radio thermostat has a range of up to 20 metres, you can simply control far away radio-controlled sockets using a remote control from wherever you are. As a matter of fact, just one radio thermostat can operate up to 100 radio-controlled sockets: Meaning that every radio-controlled socket in a range of around 20 metres can be synchronised together – ideal for hothouses or halls. Naturally you can also find the appropriate BN35R radio-controlled sockets as separate accessories in theTrotec Shop.

  • The ‘BN35 radio thermostat with timer’ set consists of a radio thermostat (transmitter) and a radio socket (receiver). With the radio thermostat you can control up to 99 additional radio socket outlets. The perfect matching radio-controlled socket outlet is offered by Trotec under the model name BN35R.
  • The radio thermostat always measures the current room temperature wherever it is. With the integrated eyelet on the back of the device, it can be hung on the wall quickly and easily.
